By using BoCA™ (Boston Cognitive Assessment), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use our service.
2. What BoCA™ Does
BoCA™ provides:
- Cognitive assessments across 8 key brain functions
- Tools to track your cognitive health over time
- Reports you can share with your healthcare provider
Usage limits: Individual personal accounts are limited to 4 assessments per month.
3. Boston Cognitive Program Membership
When you create a Boston Cognitive Account, you automatically become a member of the Boston Cognitive Program with free tier access.
The Boston Cognitive Program is our comprehensive brain health platform. As a free tier member, you get:
- Access to BoCA™ cognitive assessments
- Cognitive health tracking and progress monitoring
- Educational resources about brain health
- Updates on new features and research
Your Boston Cognitive Account gives you access to the Boston Cognitive Program at no cost.
4. Important Medical Information
BoCA™ is NOT a medical diagnosis tool.
- Our assessments are for informational purposes only
- Always consult healthcare professionals for medical decisions
- Don't delay seeking medical care based on our results
- We don't provide medical advice or treatment
5. Who Can Use BoCA™
To use BoCA™, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the mental capacity to agree to these terms
- Have a compatible device and internet connection
- Use BoCA™ for personal use only
Commercial use is strictly prohibited. BoCA™ is intended for individual personal cognitive health tracking. Any commercial, research, or business use requires a separate license agreement.
Healthcare providers and researchers: If you need access to BoCA™ for your practice or research, please visit bostoncognitive.com for provider and researcher licensing options.
6. Your Boston Cognitive Account
If you create a Boston Cognitive Account:
- Use accurate information
- Keep your password secure
- Don't share your account with others
- Tell us immediately if someone accesses your account without permission
You're responsible for all activity on your Boston Cognitive Account.
7. Using BoCA™ Responsibly
Do:
- Use BoCA™ for personal cognitive health tracking only
- Respect other users' privacy
- Keep your information up to date
Don't:
- Use BoCA™ for commercial, research, or business purposes
- Use BoCA™ for anything illegal
- Try to hack or break into our systems
- Copy or redistribute our assessments
- Interfere with other users' access
- Use automated tools to access the service
- Share your account or allow others to use it
Violation of these terms will result in immediate Boston Cognitive Account termination.
8. Your Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we:
- Collect and protect your information
- Use your data to provide our services
- Keep your health information secure
9. Our Content
BoCA™ and all its content are owned by Boston Cognitive and protected by law. You may not:
- Copy or modify our assessments
- Use our logo or branding without permission
- Remove copyright notices
10. Service Changes and Availability
We work hard to keep BoCA™ available, but:
- We may need to perform maintenance
- We may update features to improve the service
- We'll notify you of major changes when possible
- We can't guarantee 100% uptime
11. Limitations and Disclaimers
BoCA™ is provided "as is" without warranties. We're not responsible for:
- Medical decisions you make
- Technical issues beyond our control
- Loss of data due to your actions
- Third-party services or websites
12. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Take responsibility for how you use BoCA™
- Not hold us liable for your use of the service
- Respect these terms and all applicable laws
13. Ending Your Boston Cognitive Account
You can close your Boston Cognitive Account anytime by contacting us. We may close accounts that:
- Violate these terms, including commercial use
- Haven't been used in over 2 years
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Use BoCA™ for business, research, or non-personal purposes
When a Boston Cognitive Account closes, we handle your data according to our Privacy Policy.
14. Disputes
If we have a disagreement:
- We'll try to resolve it through good faith discussion
- These terms are governed by United States law
- Legal disputes will be handled in U.S. courts
15. Updates to These Terms
We may update these terms as our service evolves:
- We'll notify you of significant changes
- Changes take effect 30 days after notice
- Continuing to use BoCA™ means you accept the updates
